The court attacked the N60BN fraud case because the Nigerian government withdraws the accusation of the former Amcon boss

Special Violations of the State of Lagos and the Court of Domestic Violence in Ikeja have revoked the N60 billion fraud case against the former Director of the Corporation Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Ahmed Kuru, after the Federal government withdraws the accusation.

The withdrawal was initiated by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, MB Abubakar, who submitted a notification of stopping dated July 24, 2025.

Kuru was charged by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on February 11, 2025, with six calculations changed marked by ID/24960C/2024, bordering conspiracy, stealing, and property transfer originating from illegal actions. He claimed to be innocent.

He was charged with Sigma Golf Nigeria Limited, who on his indictment filed a guilty request based on the bargaining agreement with EFCC and was punished. Judge Rahman Oshodi then ordered confiscation of 6.3 billion ordinary shares units at Keystone Bank Limited, each worth N1, for the Federal Government. Crossing followed the recognition of Sigma Golf to cheat to change Amcon’s N20 billion.

EFCC accused that the funds transferred were channeled through the Bank’s Heritage to facilitate the acquisition of Sigma Golf’s acquisition of the Bank’s Keystone, accused Kuru and Bank Heritage Director who then managed, Ifie Sekibo (now in general), from the dishonest conceal of N20 billion Amcon funds and transferred other non-N20 Another MO20 from the N20 is dishonest from Conceal.

Although this case is scheduled to be tried, the process never starts before prosecution chooses to end the problem. At the trial on Monday, legal counsel VJ Alma urged the court to release kuru in connection with withdrawals. Defense advisor, Olasupo Shasore (SAN), supports the move and asks for the release of Suretes Kuru and the release of bonds.

Mastering the application, Judge Oshodi emphasized the prosecution’s legal rights to withdraw accusations at any stage.

“This is already established in criminal jurisprudence,” he said, “that the prosecution has a prerogative to withdraw from any prosecution at each stage of the process. Given that the withdrawal, the defendant hereby is issued, and part of Article 73 (1) (i) of the administration of the Criminal Law of the State Law of the Lagos, 2015, and the Section.

The judge also ordered the dismissal of the bond, the exemption of the supersies kuru, and the appointment of Nigeria immigration service restrictions on him. Passports and other travel documents must be returned.

“In such circumstances,” Judge Oshodi concluded, “This problem with this attacks.”
