The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has condemned allegations of irregularities in a Saturday re -election for the constituents of Ghari/Takah and Bagwai/Shanono.
The Chairperson of the APC in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, told reporters that the election was tainted by widespread deviations, including voter intimidation.
He said the supporters of the party were pursued from their homes to allow opposition to the thumb print ballot.
Abbas explained that the thugs were seen in most voting units that intimidated the remaining APC supporters who refused to leave.
He said: “Election material has not arrived at most of the voting units in the regional government affected by around 11:00 in the morning”

The Chairperson of the APC also criticized the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) due to lack of transparency and urged the commission to overcome this deviation to ensure the election reflects the will of the people.
“This is not an election,” he said.
However, Commissioner of the Election of State Residency, Bpk. Abdu Zango, stated that the commission has provided all the necessary election materials needed for the implementation of elections in all regional government areas affected and voting units.
He assured that each voting unit had been equipped with election material.
He, however, acknowledged several delays because of transportation and thug problems, which was reduced by security institutions.
