The Nigerian Agricultural Youth Forum praised the CEO of Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (Naic), Yazid Shehu Danfulani, for his role in guiding the agenda of the agricultural transformation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a declaration signed by his secretary, Ugoche Audu, and released to Abuja on Friday, the forum described Danfulani as a “fundamental figure” in the efforts to achieve food safety and economic growth.
Danfulani, observed the group, led initiatives to strengthen the agricultural sector by aligning the Naic operations with the vision of the president to modernize agriculture and enhance farmers at national level.
Under the leadership of President Tinubu, agriculture was priority as a milestone of the economic diversification strategy of Nigeria. The agenda focuses on modern techniques, made higher and protection of farmers from risk.
At the recent national agricultural summit in Abuja, Danfuflani reiterated Naic’s commitment to support this vision.
He said that the company was “at risk of agriculture” by offering insurance products that protect farmers from climatic shocks, parasites and market instability.

This, said the forum, increased the trust between rural farmers to invest in improved methods and resize their operations.
He said that “Danfuflani also embraced technology, introducing digital platforms to simplify the registration to policies, the processing of compensation requests and the agricultural risk assessments.
“Satellite images and data analysis now allow Naic to monitor agricultural land in real time, allowing faster intervention when the disasters strike.
The groups of farmers throughout the country welcomed these measures.
Aisha Ibrahim, a Kebbi’s state rice farmer, said he has recovered from the flood losses last year thanks to the insurance of Naic and is now expanding his operations.
In addition to the insurance, Naic has collaborated with agricultural institutes to train farmers in the smarter climate practices, promoting the goal of Tinubu to transform Nigeria into a net exporter of agricultural products.
The forum said that the leadership of Danfuflani represents “a lighthouse of hope” for the sector, adding that with its continuous guide, Nigeria is on the right way to guarantee its food offer and the means of existence of farmers.
