National Convention: PDP will demonstrate the ability to manage the challenges-Normunagba

The Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) states that it will make a strong declaration with its next elective national convention, according to which the party has the ability to organize itself in front of the challenges.

The secretary of the national party advertising, Debo Ologunagba, declared him on Tuesday in Abuja during a press conference on the update on the next national elective convention of the party.

Freedomonline reports that the event is scheduled for November 15 and November 16 in Ibadan.

He said that one thing that the party did was to ensure that each state organ and the interested parties were transported in the selection of the committees, adding that the party would soon publish the lists of the subcommitters.

Ologunagba said that the party was enthusiastic about the level of preparations so far by various committees and parties concerned, noting that several committees were already working for the success of the Convention.

“To show the inclusion of our party, each state chapter has contributed to popularizing those under -ups.

“Each party organ, the Foundation Council (Bot), the Governor forum, the state chapters and all the other bodies and parties concerned are all hosted.

“This is because we are determined to make a very strong declaration on the ability of this part of organizing ourselves, of being back when there are challenges we have done.

“To ensure that every organ, every party member has a sense of belonging, because we are truly the Democratic Party of people,” he said.

Ologunagba said that the field feedback had shown that the party was ready for Ibadan.

“We are very ready. We are waiting. We are determined because this would show the ability of the PDP to get up, to defend democracy, to do the right thing,” he said.

Responding to a question about speculation that there was the possibility of having a parallel agreement, Ologunagba said that the party was not aware.

He said that the party had a trial and the Constitution that guided his actions, adding that “it is interesting to note that the process started, we were synchronized with our regulator, the independent national electoral commission (Iner), participated in all meetings.

“Have witnesses of all the things we are doing. It could be a media clamor, the people who test the waters. In fact, it does not exist.

“The local organizational committee is working hard. The headquarters for the headquarters are working already in advance. Even before the inauguration of those subcommitters, they are already working. And we are methodical in the things we do,” he said.

On the performance of the party in the supplementary elections on Saturday, Ologunagba said that the Nigerians would not allow what happened during the elections to repeat themselves in the general elections of 2027.

He said that the supplementary elections were spoiled by violence, intimidation, attacks and arrest of the members of the opposition, including the elected members of the PDP in various states where the elections took place.

“I have bad news for APC. What happened in those elections, they call elections, will not happen in 2007.

“Why? The reason is that the Nigerians are wiser,” he said

He said the Nigerians will vote according to the prevalent challenges they face and the country.
