Recent research on Google’s search data shows that on August 19, Attorney General Minnesota filed a lawsuit against the Tiktok social media giant, interest in the question “Is Tiktok safe for children?” skyrocketed in the United States.
Research initiated by UX/UI Tenscope design agents revealed that public concern for the safety of the platform reached the status of ‘escape’ on Google’s trends, realized almost overnight.
This study shows that parents are very worried about how technology will affect their children. A 2024 study by Internet Matters found that 63% of parents think the use of the internet of their children has an adverse effect on their health.
Jovan Babovic, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Tenscope, commenting on the findings: “This is not just a small improvement; this is a seismic change in public awareness. The lawsuit has taken the concept of ‘addictive design’ from the term abstract industry to the attention of the kitchen table for millions of parents.

“This data proves that trust in the platform to regulate themselves collapses, and now there is a clear and urgent demand for digital products that are built to prioritize the welfare of their users, especially children, more than involvement with any cost.”
Remember that Tiktok was sued by Attorney General Minnesota Keith Ellison, who claimed that the social media giant places children in risk by encouraging compulsive use and exposing them on offensive material.
According to the lawsuit, the Tiktok algorithm was deliberately made to make children interested in a long time, which triggered concerns about the mental health of young people.
Tiktok, who was sued in the same way by other jurisdiction, said that his party protected younger users by offering content filters, screen time limits, and parental control.
