Cibn Commission Bankers Hall in Babcock, bank education increases

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has strengthened professional banking education in Nigeria with the commissioning of the Bankers Hall at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.

The 160 -seater completely digitized structure, a project to equip the Institute, was presented on August 28 on the main campus of the University during a ceremony in which the best dignitaries were participated.

The important guests of the event included the State Commissioner of Ogun for transport, Engr. Olugbenga Dairo; President of Cibn, Prof. Pius Holrewaju; The second vice-president of the institute, Mrs. Mojisola Bakare-Asuu; Registration/CEO, Mr. Akin Morakinyo, as well as Ilishan’s Olofin, Oba Mojeed Sonuga.

Speaking to the commissioning, Prof. Hlarewaju described the project as a “turning point” that will modify the future of banking professionals in Nigeria.

“By providing a structure accessible to everyone, we are opening doors for young people, women and groups underneathing to receive high quality formation in an environment designed to encourage effective learning,” he said.

The president of Cibn stressed that the room will act as hubs in which ideas are cultivated, the skills are sharpened and the future leaders are ready to thrive in the rapidly evolving financial sector.

He also observed that Babcock University occupies a “distinct position” like the first private university in Nigeria to embrace the Cibn connection program.

In his observations, the president/deputy chancellor of Babcock University, Prof. Ademola Tayo, praised the Institute for his support, underlining that the collaboration had promoted financial literacy, professional growth and infrastructure development on the campus.

In addition, the Chancellor/CEO Cibn, Mrakinyo, reiterated that the initiative reflects the commitment of the institute for education, excellence and professionalism in the banking sector.

Ilishan’s Olofin, Oba Sonuga, greeted the equipment, describing it as a welcome development that would not only benefit the university, but also to improve the growth of the host community.
