Because I stopped attending the church for more than 10 years – the actor Yemi Solade

The veteran actor of Nollywood, Yemi Solade, revealed because he has remained far from ecclesial services for more than 10 years, citing personal experiences that have clashed with his tranquility and career.

Speaking of the podcast Honest Bunch, Solade said that the turning point came in 2013 when a shepherd in his former church ordered him not to accept acting work scheduled for Sunday.

The actor explained that the directive interfered with his profession and sustenance, forcing him to reconsider the balance between faith and personal life.

“If you see me in a church, it is probably because we are turning. In 2013, I went to the church with my wife, and the shepherd told me not to do work on Sunday. The same job I wanted you to avoid is what puts me in my pocket and allows me to give offers. This was when I decided to stop,” he said.

Solade rejected the belief that life would deteriorate without a normal frequency in the church, underlining that his life has remained peaceful and stable since he took a step back.

According to him, he was able to focus more on his family and on the career as an actor without the constant needs of the committees and church programs.

“The idea that if you do not frequent the Church, the life of a person will change – I have not seen anything change. Rather, I have peace, I do well, because every day I went to the church, I received messages and ailments,” he added.

However, he clarified that his decision was not a refusal of faith, but a conscious effort to avoid pressure that hinder personal growth and productivity.
