Bruce Willis’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, has provided a heartbreaking update about the health of the Hollywood icon, revealed that the Die Hard Star could no longer communicate because of her ongoing battle with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).
Speaking in an interview with The Mirror on Friday, Emma revealed that her husband’s condition had worsened to the point where she took the role of the main decision maker in their household.
“This destroyed,” he said, “Because the man I love can not express himself anymore. I have to make a decision on his name, and that is something that I have never imagined we will face.”
In addition, Emma also detailed the development of her husband’s condition and how their lives had changed in her new book titled The Unvedpected Journey.

At the beginning of the book, he revealed it; “All parenting trips can be lonely and isolated, but dementia caregivers often feel more than that.”
“The absence of joint decision making or conversation that is meaningful with the person you love strengthens the sense of isolation. Because Bruce cannot communicate with me (because of the form of the FTD variant he has, primary progressive aphasia), I have to make an assessment call him about everything.”
“I can’t ask him how he feels, what’s wrong, or if there is something painful. Conversely, I read his body language or look at his eyes to understand what he bothering and what he experienced. I compare this with the instincts you have as parents.”
