2027: More speculation traces of Jonathan’s return, when the former president met David Mark participated in the ADC High Strategy Session

In the midst of increasing speculation on the possibility of returning to frontline politics, former President of Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday visited former Senate President David Mark, shortly after the main strategic meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja.

The closed meeting took place only a few hours after the ADC ended his first national caucus meeting, where he officially adopted the party as a coalition platform for the rearrangement of political rearrangement before the 2027 general election.

While the details of the discussion between Jonathan and Mark are still not revealed, the time has triggered a new speculation about the future of Jonathan’s political – especially whether he intends to join the President’s race to challenge the President of the Soccer Ahmed Tinubu.

Jonathan, who served as President of Nigeria until his defeat by the late President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, constitutionally meets the requirements only for one more term if he decided to run again and win.

Some members of the Democratic Party’s main opposition (PDP) reported to have lobbied former president to throw his hat on the ring once more.

Mark, a political heavyweight and old -fashioned Jonathan, served as President of the Senate during Jonathan’s term of office at the office. Their relationship is often described as productive and strategic.

In fact, under the leadership of Mark that the National Assembly imposed a “doctrine of needs,” which allowed Jonathan to take the role of acting presidentials during the constitutional crisis caused by a prolonged illness of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua.

Although Jonathan and Mark did not comment on the purpose of the meeting openly, their closeness to the strategic meeting of ADC had aroused interest in political circles.
