Montreal police confirmed the man’s age and the fact that his death appeared to be accidental.

A police spokesman said surveillance video showed the man was not pushed and there was no criminal intent.

The transit agency said it was investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Meanwhile, his party reminded public transport users to stay behind the yellow line on the platform and maintain a safe distance from the train.
