2027: Southeast belonging to Tinubu, Obi will not have a chance

Former Governor of the State of Ebonyi and Minister of Work, David Umahi has boasted that the 2027 presidential election will be a walkover for the President of the Tinubu soccer in the southeast as people in the region, especially in Ebonyi, will throw their weight behind the president.

Umahi, which made a significant on Saturday during the UN Festival Yam Ohanivo 2025 in the area of Onicha’s local government in Ebonyi, also threw a blow to the presidential candidate from the Labor Party (LP), Peter Obi, said the former Governor of the State Anambra had no chance to fight Tinubu.

The minister who rejected the influence of the obidient movement in the region, insisted that Southeast was no longer in harmony with the obidient movement because of years of political marginalization that made people in the region turn into their political loyalty and their dreams had been realized with Tinubu.

“We are not obidi people. We have been marginalized so we are no longer obidient. No, we don’t.

“But the person who has given us to belonging, the President of the Tinubu Bola. We should not come from the state of Ebonyi and they say this state is ours. There is no obidient person on Ebonyi,” Umahi said.

The former governor stressed that Tinubu had shown good intentions to the southeast, and the region would in turn rewarded him by choosing it in 2027.

“What we have to do is record the good things that have been done by the President Ahmed Tinubu for the southeast and Ebonyi state when the time comes. We will not be fooled anymore because the last election is a mistake, but we become wiser. I will not complete the naming of everything that the president did for us.

Let me use this opportunity to respect our dear president; I spoke to the southeast people. I spoke to those who embezzled the council without knowledge, I spoke to those who did not understand what was happening in the southeast, I spoke to those who had occupied social media – I had told them, the country of Ebonyi, we were not people who were not obedient.
