The General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) accused all state governments in the country on Saturday to join the task of ensuring that several stages within their territories can organize the main international parties.
Sports247 gathered that, in what Appears is a movement to ensure that Nigerian clubs play continental competition matches in their various bases, instead of borrowing outside their states, the NFF Congress lit a new impulse to involve state governments.

In addition to ensuring that clubs play continental games in the same native land that they use regularly in the Nigeria Professional Soccer League (NPFL), Congress also expressed a strong desire to return to the days of yesteryear when Super Eagles matches could also be organized anywhere in the country in the short term.
Sports247 met both a statement that was launched at the end of the General Assembly of 2025 of the NFF, which took place on Saturday at Professor Emeritus Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, in the Ibadan Orite-Meta area.
Apart from a strong call for better facilities throughout the country, Congress also approved a vote of confidence on the current possession of Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau as head of the NFF, then thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ‘his firm support of Nigerian football’ and praised the president of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Sheu Dikko for supporting the programs of the Federation of the Federation of the Federation of the Federation Federation.
The statement added in part: “Congress applauded the Government and the people of the state of Oyo for its remarkable commitment to sports progress and generous hospitality with delegates and guests, affirming the preparation of Ibadan to the main international football events.
“The Congress chose the constant improvements in the Premier Football League (NPFL) of Nigeria (NPFL), the Nigeria National League (NNL), the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) and the National League throughout the country (NLO). He urged the bodies of the league, the referees and the state associations of football to maintain of the highest standards and the strongest national competitions.
“Congress asked all state governments to invest more in standard football infrastructure to meet FIFA and CAF requirements for international matches.”
