Flying Eagles to face Ghana and two others in WAFU B Under-20 tournament

The Nigerian Flying Eagles will take on Ghana, Togo and Burkina Faso in Group B of the WAFU B Under-20 Championship, Completesports.com reports.

The draw for the regional tournament, which serves as a qualifying competition for the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, was held on Wednesday at the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B headquarters in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The Flying Eagles and Ghana’s Black Satellites will renew their old rivalry in the group.

Nigeria defeated the Black Satellites 2-1 in the final of the last edition of the competition.

Group A consists of hosts Ivory Coast, Benin and Niger, with the three nations also competing for a place in the continental championship.

The competition will take place from July 26 to August 9, 2026 in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast.

The Flying Eagles have won the last two editions of the competition.
