Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the visit of the Tinubu Ball President to the State of the highlands for the burial of the late Mother from the National Chairperson of the Congress of All Progressive (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Nana Lydia Yilwatda, which occurred on Saturday.
Presidential candidate 2023 from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in a statement that was very word -words Saturday night, condemned Tinubu for attending what he described as a social event in the northern central state that was damaged by cruel attacks and murder, instead of visiting the victims and community consolia which were damaged by uncertain sense.
In that statement he posted on his official X grip, Atiku described Tinubu’s visit to Plateau, a country that had suffered a series of attacks that had caused the death of thousands and destruction of more than 500 communities, as a sad reflection of priority and leadership ridicule.
Atiku stated that it was regrettable that Tinubu chose to visit the state of Plateau to attend a funeral related to the APC chairman rather than sympathizing with the victims of murder and continuous transfer throughout the region.
“With the large plot of the country, it is still surrounded because of the incessant insecurity and thousands of innocent lives disappeared, it is unfortunate that the President of the Tinubu ball, for once, feels worth visiting the affected countries to sympathize with the grieving citizens,” Atiku said in the statement.
Continue, he said:
“However, today, the president suddenly considering the state of the highlands, one of the most terrorized parts of North Central, not to share in public pain, but to attend social events under the auspices of the national leader of his party.

“This is a sad reflection of priority and striking leadership ridicule while the family in the highlands continues to bury the people they love, President Tinubu chose to decorate political funerals rather than standing with people at their darkest hours.
“Between the National Chairperson of the APC and his president, what we witnessed today is an exhibition that feels heartless to ignore empathy, compassion, and the dignity of human life.
Atiku also reviled Tinubu’s administration because it failed to show solidarity with victims of violence in the northern central region, quoting countries such as Benue, Niger, and Kwara as an example of a place that suffered repeated attacks without direct president’s visit.
“From Benue to Niger and most recently Kwara, the entire northern central region has experienced some of the most terrible waves of violence in history recently. However, not once the government led by APC considers the need to be physically standing by the victims or entertaining their families.
“Even when Tinubu made a symbolic visit to the state of Benue in June, he never bothering to set foot in Yelewata, the center of the massacre. Conversely, he ended his journey comfortably in Makurdi, turning his back to people whose tears and blood still tarnished the soil.
“Now again, he is in the state of the highlands, not to entertain people who are grieving or convincing damaged, but to celebrate and speak up with the elite party while people are mourning.
“The message cannot be clearer: this is a president who prefers to party than to feel – a leader who finds pleasure in which people find pain.
“Nigerian people watch, and they will remember,” he concluded.
