Barau FC captain Usman Maidubji has paid glowing tributes to Kano Pillars ahead of the crunch derby scheduled for Sunday at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Maliya Boys will take on Sai Masu Gida’s side in a matchday 29 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, and are looking forward to extending their impressive form from the start of the second round.
The skipper, who praised Pillars during his stint with the club, said his current team is ready to be at its best for the highly anticipated clash.
According to him, “Kano Pillars was a team where I was once a player, one that I cherish every day and love for.
“Football sometimes takes you ahead of those you have worked with. But this adds value and meaning to the game. I honor the memories I created there and wish them all the best.
“Today my heart goes out to my current team. We are ready to give everything we have on the pitch for our club and our fans. Let it be a good match, full of respect.”
