Authorities have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident that left popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Samuel Perry, known as Broda Shaggi, hospitalized after suffering a gunshot injury during the production of a comedy drama.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon in Sango-Ota area of Ogun State, where the social media personality was filming a comedy drama with his crew members.
According to sources familiar with the situation, Shaggi was injured while filming a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge, although the exact circumstances that led to the shooting remain unclear.
Police sources said the comedian’s team responded quickly after the incident occurred.

“He was filming a comedy drama on location when he suffered injuries. His colleagues who were present immediately took him to the hospital for treatment,” said the source.
The entertainer was first taken to Blooming Care Hospital in Alakuko area of Lagos State, where doctors administered initial emergency treatment.
Subsequently, he was referred to the Duchess Hospital in Government Residential Area (GRA), Ikeja, where he is currently receiving further treatment and recovery.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday that the case had been notified by the hospital. Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi said authorities were aware of the development, although further details about the shooting had not been disclosed.
The investigation is expected to determine how the shooting occurred during the filming of the skit and whether any safety lapses or other factors contributed to the incident.
