Burna Boy made history as the first African artist to gross $3.1 million on an Oceania tour

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, Burna Boy, has made history as the first African artist to gross over $3 million on an Oceania tour.

According to global tour analytics platform Touring Data, his “No Sign of Weakness” tour earned $3.1 million from 31,000 tickets sold across four shows in Australia.

Sydney’s games at Qudos Bank Arena were particularly prominent, generating $1.117 million in revenue from one show. The Oceania leg is part of a 20-show global tour spanning North America, Europe and Australia, showcasing Burna Boy’s strong international appeal.

During the Australian leg, total ticket sales reached approximately 30,946 across the four venues, proving that African artists can consistently sell tickets at major arenas outside the continent. This record cements Burna Boy’s status as one of the continent’s most bankable live artists.

This milestone underscores the growing global demand for Afrobeats and illustrates how African artists can earn significant revenues in key international markets, paving the way for bigger tours and increased global recognition.
