No one can take away the AFCON 2025 title from Senegal

Senegalese defender Idrissa Gueye says it will be difficult for anyone to take the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title away from the team.

Recall that CAF stripped Senegal of its AFCON 2025 title 58 days after the tournament ended, declaring host Morocco the winner.

The board ruled that Senegal’s withdrawal in protest of a penalty in added time violated articles 82 and 84. As a result, the match was recorded as lost 3–0 in favor of Morocco.

In reaction to the decision, the Everton star through his X handle He stated that no one can take the AFCON title away from Senegal.

“We know what we experienced that night in Rabat and no one can take it away from us, God willing,” he published.
