Real Madrid stuns Roma with a spectacular late comeback

Real Madrid scored three late goals to overturn a two-goal deficit and beat Roma 4-3 in a thrilling match at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma took the lead in the 20th minute through Marten de Roon, whose shot was deflected before beating goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Real Madrid responded five minutes later, with Kylian Mbappé finding the net in the 25th minute to restore parity.

The hosts regained control after the break when Donyell Malen scored in the 51st minute before completing his brace in the 57th minute, giving Roma a 3-1 lead and leaving the Spanish visitors with a difficult task.

Real Madrid, however, did not give up and launched a late assault that completely changed the result. Carlos Espí closed the gap in the 82nd minute by taking advantage of a rebound after Endrick’s header had been saved.

Endrick then leveled the score in the 85th minute with a header from a corner, completing a stunning recovery that had seemed unlikely just minutes earlier. Antonio Rüdiger struck the decisive blow in the 90th minute, finishing from close range after Arda Güler sent a corner into the dangerous area.

The win earned Real Madrid three valuable points and demonstrated their ability to recover under pressure. Roma, meanwhile, were left to rue their inability to protect a two-goal lead in the closing stages.

PSG beat Manchester City 4-2

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Manchester City 4-2 after producing an excellent first-half performance before withstanding a reaction from the English in the second half.

Desire Doué opened the scoring in the 12th minute and Ousmane Dembélé doubled PSG’s lead in the 14th minute as the visitors exploited gaps in City’s defence.

Vitinha extended the lead in the 32nd minute, putting PSG firmly in control before the break and leaving City with a substantial deficit to overcome.

Manchester City responded after the restart when Erling Haaland scored in the 53rd minute to reduce the margin. However, Maghnes Akliouche restored PSG’s three-goal lead in the 62nd minute with a long-range shot that beat goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Haaland scored again in the 75th minute, completing his brace and giving City renewed hope, but PSG held on to secure an important away win. Donnarumma also saved a penalty from Ferran Torres, preventing the hosts from making the final phase even more tense.

Haaland’s first goal took him to 60 Champions League goals in 60 appearances, making him the fastest player to reach that milestone. Despite their individual achievement, City could not prevent PSG from taking all three points.

Aston Villa demolishes Fenerbahçe

Aston Villa produced one of the most emphatic performances of the night, beating Fenerbahçe 6-0 at Villa Park.

Johan Manzambi opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Nicolas Jackson scored in the 31st and 39th minutes to give the home side a three-goal lead at half-time.

Tammy Abraham completed the rout in the 90th minute, sealing a comprehensive victory for the English club.

Jackson and Barkley both scored twice, while Manzambi and Abraham also found the net. Villa’s clinical finishing meant Fenerbahçe never staged a significant challenge and the result represented an important statement of intent from the home side at the league stage.

Lewis Koumas added Liverpool’s sixth goal in the 72nd minute, putting the visitors firmly in control despite LASK’s attempts to recover.

Florian Flecker scored twice in the 74th and 77th minutes to reduce the deficit, but Liverpool held on to claim an impressive away win. Barcola’s hat-trick was particularly significant, marking his first Liverpool goal following his high-profile move from Paris Saint-Germain.

Anis Hadj Moussa gave the Dutch the lead in the 52nd minute, handing the hosts the lead as the match entered the second half.

Feyenoord increased their lead in the 81st minute when Como goalkeeper Robert Sánchez scored an own goal. Como didn’t give up and Anastasios Douvikas found the net in the 90th minute plus three minutes of injury time, but his attempt came too late to avoid defeat.
