Chikelue Iloenyosi promises better representation for the South East as a member of the NFF Executive Committee

The president of the Anambra State Football Association, Chikelue Iloenyosi, has promised to offer better representation to the south-east of the country if he is elected from that area to the next executive committee of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

Sports247 reports that the former Super Eagles defender made the promise while announcing his decision to run as a candidate in this year’s election process towards the emergence of a new board to run Nigerian football.

The former international, affectionately called ‘General’, made his aspiration known in a video message he sent from south-east London, where he calmly explained what he called his vision for football in Nigeria at all levels.

Iloenyosi, who is also the chairman of the board of directors of the Nigerian Football Players Union, stressed that he is not desperate for the position, but added that his desire is to contribute to the further development of the round leather game.

While stating that his statement is driven by a call to serve, rather than personal ambition, Iloenyosi affirmed the need for stronger structures, youth development efforts, better sponsorship platforms and greater player welfare.

“I am here to let all my fans and football stakeholders in Anambra State and around the world know that General Chikelue Iloenyosi will contest for the NFF Board position representing the South East.

“We pray to Almighty God that we succeed. If we win, we thank God. If we don’t win, we still thank God because we are not desperate. We are here to support the growth of football and contribute to the development of Nigeria.

“God bless you all,” said Iloenyosi, who further expressed optimism about a glorious future for Nigerian football through better organization in the NFF and concrete support from a number of stakeholders united for the progress of the game.
