MONROVIA, May 1, 2026 – Guaranty Trust Bank (GT Bank) Liberia Limited has honored one of its senior executives, Elvis Kekulah Crusoe, for his outstanding service, leadership, and major contributions to the bank’s growth and transformation over the years.
The recognition comes as Crusoe, who serves as Senior Manager and Head of Business Development, played a key role in expanding the bank’s operations across Corporate, Commercial, Public Sector, and Retail divisions, takes his exit.
Under his stewardship, the institution reportedly grew deposits from US$68 million in 2019 to US$382 million as of January 31, 2026, while improving profitability from losses to sustained annual gains.
Bank officials praised Crusoe for his commitment, professionalism, and strategic vision, noting that his leadership has strengthened customer confidence, increased market competitiveness, and positioned GTBank Liberia as one of the country’s leading financial institutions.
The honor also reflects Crusoe’s more than two decades of experience in banking, finance, and business development, during which he has built a reputation for excellence, innovation, and results-driven management.
Beyond the recognition, Crusoe’s credentials further underscore his professional standing.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Energy and Mining Finance/Oil & Gas Economics with Distinction, as well as certifications in Financial Modeling and in Mining & Petroleum Project Economics and Finance.
He is also currently a candidate for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
Crusoe has also held strategic positions at the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), Grow Liberia, and the Liberian Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI), where he contributed to financial reforms and enterprise growth.
Many within the financial sector see the recognition as a testament to the value of dedicated leadership and a sign that Liberian professionals continue to excel both at home and abroad.
Several GT Banks clients at the honoring and farewell party on Wednesday testified to Crusoe’s professional and astute leadership.
Crusoe is expected to reunite with his family in the United States, where he will continue his career. Bank officials said their doors remain open to welcome Crusoe back should he intend to relocate to Liberia. Other companies’ representatives, mainly GT Bank clients, vowed to secure his signature should he decide to relocate to Liberia.
