Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have killed three suspected terrorists and recovered a stash of arms and ammunition during a combat patrol in Zamfara State.
The Nigerian Army disclosed this in an operational report released to journalists on Thursday in Abuja.
According to the report, troops carried out combat patrols in the Birnin Magaji Local Government Area, covering the villages of Birnin Tsaba, Tsanu and Dumburum.
The report stated that contact was established with the terrorists in Dumburum village.

“During the encounter, troops neutralized three terrorists and recovered a number of weapons and ammunition.
“The items found included one AK-47 rifle, one SK-21 A1 machine gun, one locally made pistol, six AK-47 magazines and one FN rifle magazine.
“Also found were 123 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, 179 rounds of 12.7 x 108 mm ammunition installed, and 269 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO ammunition,” he said.
The report added that no casualties were recorded among the troops during the operation.
