Tinubu: Barbaric killing of kidnapped teacher, vows to fish out bandits, collaborators

*PRESIDENT TINUBU ASSURES THE RESCUE OF KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN OYO STATE AND CONDEMNS THE KILLING OF A KIDNAPPED TEACHER*

President Bola Tinubu has condemned as barbaric the alleged killing of one of the abducted teachers from Esiele community in Oyo State, while rescue operations are underway.

Bandits invaded Esiele community in Oriire Local Government Area of ​​Oyo State on Friday. They abducted staff, students and pupils from Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School and LA Primary School.

Security officers work round the clock to rescue victims and arrest bandits and their collaborators within the community.

President Tinubu sympathized with Governor Seyi Makinde, the government and people of Oyo State over the unfortunate incident and assured them that the Federal Government will collaborate with the State Government to rescue the victims.

“I am saddened by the news of the killing of one of the abducted teachers by gunmen who invaded the community. I sympathize with Governor Seyi Makinde and commend the measures he has taken in this regard. I sympathize with the families of the abducted victims.

“The Federal Government is working with the Oyo State Government to rescue all the victims. I commend the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioners of Police of Oyo and Kwara States for their quick intervention and deployment of a tactical team and Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to rescue the victims.

“The IGP, following my instructions, is personally leading the technology-driven operation. We expect a breakthrough soon. The bandits and all their local collaborators will be fished out and forced to face the full wrath of the law.

“The kidnapping cases further make it imperative to establish the state police to police some of our underprivileged areas. The National Assembly should expedite the implementation of the law creating the state police,” the President said.
