Russia launches major missile attack on Kiev

Russia resumed ballistic missile attacks on Ukraine after a pause of several nights, with the capital Kiev coming under fire on Thursday morning.

Up to six repurposed Zircon anti-ship missiles were fired at Kiev, according to military-linked Telegram channels, while there were reports of several heavy explosions in the city.

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported damage to office buildings, a warehouse and a residential building, among others.

Klitschko said at least 11 people were injured in the attacks, while media reports indicated that water supplies were cut in some districts east of the Dnipro River.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhya in southern Ukraine were also targeted with ballistic missiles.

Meanwhile, Telegram channels reported, Ukraine attacked targets in Russia with combat drones.

Reported targets include the southern Russian cities of Rostov and Yaroslavl, northeast of Moscow.

Several Russian airports temporarily restricted operations following the attacks, Russian aviation authority Rosaviatsia said.
