The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed reports that abducted students, pupils and teachers in Orire Local Government Area of ​​the state have been rescued, describing the information as false and misleading.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, made this known in a statement released on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Olayinka said the victims were still in captivity as security agencies continued intensive operations to ensure their safe release and arrest those responsible for the abduction.
