Kaduna pilgrims head to Mecca and complete the rituals of Medina

The Kaduna State Pilgrim Welfare Agency will transport the last batch of pilgrims to Mecca in record time on Friday, after spending the mandatory four days in Medina.

A statement issued on Friday by the Chief Press Officer, Malam Ibraheem Musa of Madina, attributed the seamless evacuation to Governor Uba Sani’s adequate support to the Agency.

Citing the Director of Operations of the Pilgrims Agency, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Yusuf, the statement noted that the governor’s support has enabled the commencement of initial preparations for the pilgrimage, starting with weekly sensitization of intending pilgrims in Nigeria.

“The exercise educated our pilgrims on all aspects of Hajj, Saudi Arabian rules and how they should behave during the pilgrimage,” Abubakar added.

The statement claims that “those foundations have laid the foundation for the smooth conduct of all Hajj rites in Madinah,” adding that Agency officials have not encountered many challenges with pilgrims from Kaduna State.

The Director of Operations also commended the Kaduna State Hajj Delegation Committee under the leadership of Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, former Head of Service, for providing all guidance during the pilgrims’ stay in Madinah.

Alhaji Abubakar recalled that the state Hajj delegation had visited Malam Sani Garba, a pilgrim admitted at the Almiqati General Hospital in Madinah, together with staff of the Kaduna State Pilgrim Welfare Agency.

The statement further revealed that Malam Sani was discharged and left for Mecca on Thursday.

The Director of Operations also commended the members of the Special Hajj Committee and the management of the Kaduna State Pilgrim Welfare Agency, for hosting the pilgrims in the Misfalah district of Mecca, along Ibrahim Khalil Road, located within walking distance of the Masjid al-Haram.
