The newly elected President of the Nigeria Sitting Volleyball Federation, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has commended the National Sports Commission (NSC) for ensuring that the recently concluded Para-Sports Federation elections were conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.
Speaking after his election as President, the Hon. Isa said the successful election marked the beginning of a new era for volleyball in Nigeria, stressing that it was time to get to work.
“The time has come for us to hit the ground running. My vision is to bring sitting volleyball to the global stage and make Nigeria one of the leading nations in the sport,” he said.
The newly elected President expressed gratitude to stakeholders for the trust reposed in him, stressing that the best way to repay their trust is through focused leadership and rapid development of the game across the country.
“I sincerely thank all the stakeholders who elected me. I appreciate the trust they have placed in me and the only way I can repay that trust is to ensure that sitting volleyball becomes more popular in all states of the federation,” he added.
Hon Mohammed Abba Isa, who also serves as Special Assistant to the President on Persons with Disabilities, pledged to work closely with the National Sports Commission and other stakeholders to promote sports, improve the well-being of athletes and position Nigeria for greater success on the international stage.
He expressed optimism that with unity, strategic planning and support from the NSC, volleyball in Nigeria can experience unprecedented growth in the coming years.
