Stanley Nwabali returns to Chippa United ahead of the new season

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has officially returned to South African Premier Division side Chippa United ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the club confirming his return on Sunday.

The Chilli Boys welcomed the Nigerian international to the Eastern Cape after a period away from the team and described his return as a major boost to the team’s preparations for the new campaign.

“We are delighted to welcome Stanley Nwabali back to the Chilli Boys,” the club said in a statement. “After taking some time off, Stanley returns to the Eastern Cape and we are pleased to welcome him back to the club. His experience, leadership and presence will once again be a valuable addition to the team as we continue preparations for next season.”

Nwabali has established himself as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper after a series of impressive performances for the Super Eagles and remains one of the most reliable players in the country. His return is expected to strengthen Chippa United as they prepare for the upcoming season of the South African top flight.
