The Nigerian international is considered a key member of the squad, but the club are reportedly willing to approve a lucrative transfer if any interested parties meet their assessment.
The Blue and Clarets have identified young Gambian defender Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh, who currently plays for Tromsø IL, as a possible replacement should Nwaiwu leave the club.
Trabzonspor are reportedly willing to make a €7m bid for Kinteh as they search for a long-term solution at the heart of their defence.
Fulham interested in the defender
Premier League side Fulham have been consistently linked with the defender, although it is unclear whether they would be willing to pay the high price Trabzonspor are asking for Nwaiwu.
With compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey already on Fulham’s books, Nwaiwu would likely find it easier to settle in if he completes his move to the London club.
