PSC Chief of Protocol and Public Affairs Torty Kalu said the officers concerned got their appointments after successfully passing the written exams and oral interviews recently concluded by the commission.

According to Kalu, the promotions are one of the main resolutions reached during the commission’s plenary meeting.

In addition to the promotions, the commission approved the confirmation of appointments of 162 Deputy Superintendents of Police II (ASP II) to the substantive rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police I (ASP I).

Speaking on the promotions, PSC Chairman, Hashimu Argungu, congratulated the officers and urged them to justify the trust reposed in them through exemplary conduct and dedication to duty.

He charged the newly promoted officials to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, transparency and accountability in discharging their responsibilities.

Argungu also warned them against getting entangled in civil disputes, especially land-related issues, stressing that such matters often undermine the credibility of police officers.

He also reminded them that their careers would come to an end sooner or later and advised them to protect their integrity during their years of service.

“Be aware that there is life after retirement. Guide your reputation and integrity. Let your actions speak for you and not against you,” the PSC chairman said.
