A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Egor Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo State, Hon. Crosby Eribo expressed optimism that Saturday’s council elections will strengthen grassroots governance and deepen democratic participation across the country.
Eribo, who spoke to journalists shortly after casting his vote in Unit 20, Ward 6, in Egor, said the council poll was crucial in consolidating democratic institutions at the grassroots level, urging political parties and their supporters to behave peacefully during the exercise.
He described the electoral process as peaceful, orderly and encouraging, praising voters for their impressive turnout and election officials for ensuring a smooth conduct.
The APC chief also commended the security agencies for maintaining law and order in the polling units, saying their presence contributed to the peaceful atmosphere witnessed during the voting.
Eribo expressed confidence in his party’s possibilities, adding that the APC has earned the trust of the people through sustained grassroots commitment and delivering on its promises.
“Our expectations are clear: we are confident of victory because the APC remained close to the people and kept its promises,” he added.
