The MAPOLY Board of Directors promotes 24 senior academic staff members

The Governing Council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, has approved the promotion and appointment of 24 senior academic staff members as part of efforts to improve staff motivation and strengthen academic excellence at the institution.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the approval was granted at the Board’s statutory meeting held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

The promotions include 10 principal faculty, 13 principal faculty and one lead technologist.

According to the institution, the appointments cover the 2022, 2023 and 2024 promotion exercises and will take effect retroactively from October 1 of each respective year.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Emeritus Kamaldeen Balogun, said the Council remains committed to ensuring that promotions and appointments are conducted timely in line with established procedures.

Balogun noted that timely career advancement is essential to boost staff morale and reposition the polytechnic among the leading institutions of the country’s polytechnic system.

He also commended the staff members for their dedication and commitment to the growth and development of the institution.

The Rector, Arc. Dr. Babatunde Koye Jolaoso congratulated the newly promoted staff and assured workers of fairness, equity and justice in career progression matters.

Jolaoso called on the beneficiaries to justify the trust placed in them by demonstrating greater commitment, improved productivity and professionalism in discharging their responsibilities.

The institution said the promotions reflect its commitment to rewarding excellence and upholding academic standards through a transparent, merit-based promotion process.
