The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, on Monday said he will implement local government fiscal autonomy in Oyo State.
Senator Alli stated this in Ibadan while addressing APC stakeholders and House of Assembly aspirants from across Oyo State at a meeting held at the University of Ibadan International Conference Centre.
The APC governorship candidate said he is ready to work with all stakeholders of the party if elected governor of the state on May 29, 2027.
Senator Alli lauded the reconciliation of House of Assembly aspirants in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the aspirants’ decision to work together is necessary for the party’s success in 2027.
“You will all be supported in our activities. Let us work in unity and ensure that we come to power in the 2027 elections,” he said.
The APC governorship candidate assured aspirants that their efforts and contributions to the party would not be in vain, adding that if elected, an inclusive government would operate where members of the party would be brought forward.
Speaking further, Senator Alli dismissed the claims of some people during his recent tour of some parts of the state, saying that his team was very well received in all the places they visited.
Specifically, the APC governorship candidate said they were well received in Igbeti and Kishi towns as they were welcomed to towns with large turnout of people.
Senator Alli said that nowhere was his team stoned or attacked, as an anonymous publication claims.
