Obideyi praises 3SC Continental’s triumph and backs Oluyole Warriors to finish their job in Tunisia

The Oyo State Sports Pillar and Chairman of the Sports Pillar Youth Development Foundation, Mr. Temitope Ademola Obideyi, has congratulated the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) after their impressive 1-0 victory over Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round match on Saturday at the MKO Sports Arena, Abeokuta.

Obideyi, a passionate supporter and committed admirer of the Oluyole Warriors, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, particularly considering the pedigree of the Tunisian team and the underdog status that surrounded Shooting Stars before the match.

The victory marked a memorable return to continental football for the Shooting Stars after a 27-year absence, after finishing in third place in the previous NPFL season behind champions Enugu Rangers and Rivers United.

Speaking to OyoSportsNews after the match, Obideyi praised the players, head coach Salisu Yusuf and the management led by the CEO, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami, describing the victory as a well-deserved reward for the team’s collective effort.

He praised the players for their tactical discipline, technical execution, determination and impressive teamwork throughout the match, insisting that Shooting Stars demonstrated the quality and character required to compete at continental level.

According to him, the 1-0 scoreline could have been more convincing if the Oluyole Warriors had taken advantage of some of the opportunities that came their way, but he remained satisfied with the overall performance and the clean sheet secured against the experienced Tunisian team.

Obideyi is optimistic that Shooting Stars can complete the job in the second leg in Tunisia and advance to the next round of the competition. However, he urged the technical team to quickly address the team’s deficiencies, especially in front of goal, before the second leg.

He also called on the players to remain focused, disciplined and committed, stressing that the advantage gained in the first leg must be approached with maturity and determination.

Obideyi further prayed for an injury-free encounter in Tunisia and expressed confidence that with the right mindset, tactical discipline and collective effort, the Oluyole Warriors will be able to successfully defend their lead and continue their much-awaited continental journey.
