Warri Wolves are aiming for the continental ticket, declares president Ambakederemo

President of the Warri Wolves Football Club in Warri, Delta State, Neville Ambakederemo, has said the club’s main objective this season is to secure a continental ticket.

Speaking exclusively to faksmedia.com on Thursday, the soft-spoken football administrator said the club had been given a clear mandate not only to participate in the championship but to compete for a place on the continent.

“Ohis, we have already been given a goal. It is not just to participate in the championship; we have been told to look to the continent, to less.”

Ambakederemo noted that Warri Wolves started the season with two away games and are now looking forward to two crucial home games against Kwara United and Rangers.

According to him, getting maximum points in the two home games could mark the start of the club’s continental ambition.

“We started with two away games, and now we have Kwara United to play at home. Then we have Rangers again, also at home in Ozoro. I believe the boys get the maximum six points. Then we can say the dream for the continent has begun,” he said.

The Warri Wolves President also expressed appreciation to the Delta State Government and the State Sports Commission for their continued support to the club.

He said the state government’s support had provided much-needed encouragement for the team to pursue its ambition of returning to mainland football.

Ambakederemo stressed that with the support of the government, Sports Commission, players, coaching staff and fans, Warri Wolves remain determined to make the continental dream a reality.
