The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has announced that Joy Ugonma Olayiwola will be the winner of the 2026 Aig-Imoukhuede Master in Public Policy (MPP) scholarship at the University of Oxford.
The scholarship will support Olayiwola’s pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, where he will deepen his knowledge of public policy, institutions, economics and public decision-making.
Established in 2017, the Aig-Imoukhuede MPP Scholarship offers exceptional Nigerian public servants the opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies at Oxford. The program is designed to provide scholars with advanced policy knowledge, international exposure and practical skills to strengthen their ability to contribute to public sector reform and improved service delivery.
With the 2026 award, 34 civil servants have now received the Aig-Imoukhuede MPP Scholarship at the University of Oxford, contributing to a growing community of public sector professionals supported through the Foundation’s leadership development initiatives.
In addition to scholarship, program alumni have applied what they learned to public sector initiatives in areas such as health care, institutional reform and efforts to combat human trafficking.
Olayiwola is an alumnus of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation’s Public Leaders Program and currently serves as a Deputy Director at the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA). He also leads the Smart Geospatial and ICT unit at GeoApps Plus Limited.
With over 17 years of experience in public service, Olayiwola has developed expertise in digital systems, data-driven solutions and institutional capacity building.
Commenting on the grant, Executive Vice President of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, said the initiative reflects the Foundation’s belief that strengthening the public service requires sustained investment in the people who work within it.
“We provide public servants with opportunities to learn, broaden their perspectives and develop the ability to address complex challenges with greater insight and judgment.
