Access Bank, Harvest Group and others present to meet Ambassador Clark-Omeru, as Letter of Credence is presented to Hichilema

Nigeria’s new High Commissioner to Zambia, Queen Efe Ambassador Alexandra Clark-Omeru on Friday presented her Letter of Credence to President Hakainde Hichilema.

The ceremony which took place at State House in Lusaka marked his official reception to Zambia as Nigeria’s top diplomatic official. He was accompanied by Mrs. Epelle CA, former Nigerian Acting High Commissioner to Zambia.

After the colorful ceremony concluded, Ambassador Clark-Omeru hosted members of the Nigerian community and corporate leaders for lunch at the Nigerian High Commission.

Speaking at a luncheon attended by senior management officials of Access Bank, Harvest Group, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Sahara Energy and Dangote Cement, he expressed deep appreciation for the warm welcome given by Nigerians and citizens of other countries.

In an outpouring of goodwill messages, Managing Director of Access Bank Zambia, Dr Iheanyi Nwogu, congratulated Ambassador Clark-Omeru on her appointment and praised her commitment to providing strong support for the growth and development of Nigerian-owned businesses.

“Access Bank Zambia assures you of our full support and collaboration as you complete your assignment. Our doors are open to the High Commission for all initiatives that promote the interests of Nigeria, the Nigerian community and the shared prosperity of our two countries” said Dr Nwogu.

In his remarks, the Group Managing Director of Harvest Group of Companies Limited, Honorable Adaoha, Ugo-Ngadi, conveyed warm wishes to Ambassador Clark-Omeru, stating that the Group has a continental vision to impact Africa, and not just Zambia.

He said, “We are driven by a strong desire to make an impact on Africa and encouraged by your determination to see Nigerian businesses and society thrive for the betterment of humanity.” Adaoha Ugo-Ngadi is represented by Sam Ibemere, Corporate Communications Lead at Harvest Group.

Welcoming the new Ambassador, president of Nigerians In Diaspora Organization (NIDO), Apostle Lawyer Joel Akobaro Joseph said, “As Nigerians in Diaspora, we recognize that we not only represent our respective families and professions, but are also ambassadors of Nigeria wherever we are. We therefore remain committed to behaving in a manner that upholds the dignity, values ​​and positive image of our beloved nation.”

Born in 1972, Ambassador Clark-Omeru served as Nigeria’s Consul General to Cameroon’s Littoral and Western Regions, and was the first woman to hold the position. His tour of duty also took him to South Africa and Argentina where he served as High Commissioner and Head of Mission to Nigeria respectively.

Appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he arrived in Lusaka in July 2026 to officially begin his term as Nigeria’s top envoy to Zambia.
