Bandits kidnap a newly married couple – Nigerian Ripples

Bandits reportedly kidnapped a newlywed couple, Abiodun David and his wife, Funmilayo Bamidele, at the Eruku-Iyemero Road border area, between Kogi and Kwara states.

The couple, who were said to have just returned from their engagement ceremony in Eruku, were waylaid by armed bandits on the road as they were on their way to drop off their bridesmaids and other members of the group in Iyamoye, Kogi State.

Confirming the incident, Kwara State Police Commissioner, Adekimi Ojo, revealed that the vehicle the group was traveling in was parked at an abandoned police station in Ayetoro, Ekiti State.

Therefore, he said that soldiers and police in the three affected states were jointly combing the bushes in search of the couple and their kidnappers.
