A long-time Winnipeg fragrance factory has closed after its owners say the city asked them to rezone or no one else would come running the home business.
“I don’t make enough money to do the commercial zoning they want,” said Michael O’Malley, owner of La Parfumerie.

O’Malley has lived and worked in the Wolseley neighborhood since 1999, selling natural perfume.
More than 1,000 people signed an online petition in support of keeping the business open, according to a Change.org post Sunday afternoon.
Global News contacted the city and borough councils but did not receive a response before deadline.
