The coach acknowledged the pressure surrounding the match, but revealed that his coaching team had studied the Ivorians and identified their strengths and weaknesses.
“It is a dangerous situation. We are calm and we remind the players how we want to play. We have analyzed Côte d’Ivoire, how they play, their strengths and weaknesses.
“There is just a little bit of pressure because it is a match that Nigeria must win. So we have to keep the players focused and believing in themselves, knowing that we can get the result we need,” he added.
Uwejamomere also acknowledged Ivory Coast’s quality, but challenged his players to match the intensity and determination of their opponents in their quest for victory.
“The Ivorians are a very good team. They can fight, but we also have to fight and show them how much we want victory. We know what we have to do to beat them. I have confidence,” he concluded.
