Euromatch NPFL: Enyimba striker blames missed opportunities

Enyimba striker Wonah William has pointed to missed scoring opportunities as the main reason for his team’s disappointing draw against Warri Wolves in Aba.

The People’s Elephant suffered a frustrating 0-0 draw against the Seasiders at the Enyimba International Stadium on Sunday. With this result, the nine-time Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) champions have only managed two wins in their first nine matches of the season.

Reflecting on the match, William admitted that while the team performed well overall, their failure in the final third proved costly.

“We played very well, but we couldn’t take advantage of our opportunities in the game,” William said in a post-match interview.

Looking ahead, the striker promised that the team would address their shortcomings on the training ground as they prepare to face Nasarawa United in Lafia.

“It’s pretty unfortunate, but I think we’ll work on it before the next game.”

“We will shift our attention to the next game against Nasarawa United and I think we can get a positive result there,” he added.
