Action Alliance (AA) presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, Aare Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, on Saturday flagged off his presidential campaign in Ede, Osun State, pledging to revive the nation’s economy.

This was contained in a statement made available to the media in Kaduna on Saturday 24 October 2026.

The flag ceremony, held at Babanla Agate Ward, his native ward in Ede, was preceded by special prayers led by Islamic scholars, Christian clerics and traditionalists.

Senior politicians, captains of industry, trade unionists, artisans and traders from different parts of the country graced the occasion, presided over by national AA leaders, including the Osun State party chairman, Kazeem Araoye.

Addressing supporters, Omoaje disclosed that major campaigns would soon be held in the six geopolitical zones of the country, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He said his agenda for the country covers all sectors of the economy, stressing that he is determined to end the economic crisis currently ravaging the nation.

The AA presidential candidate said his economic recovery plan will focus on creating jobs, eradicating poverty and fighting corruption.

He reiterated his determination to ensure that all the country’s young people have paid work and promised to abolish poverty if elected.

Expressing optimism about winning next year’s presidential election, Omoaje said his administration will be anchored on economic prosperity and guided by his party’s core values, which focus on promoting the well-being of the masses.

On security, he assured supporters that his administration will fight insecurity head-on and ensure that all Nigerians can sleep with both eyes closed everywhere in the country.

Omoaje also said he would reduce the number of ministers and political appointees and instead appoint presidential liaison officers in all 774 local government areas to ensure a direct federal presence at the grassroots.

He also promised that all roads would be classified as federal roads to eliminate disparities in infrastructure development across the country.

The presidential candidate has solicited support from Nigerians for his bid to become the next president, pledging to provide focused leadership to restore hope and prosperity.
