Xabi Alonso hails powerful forward, Victor Boniface

Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso has expressed his admiration for Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, praising his outstanding performance in a recent match.

Since joining Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface has made an impressive impact, scoring three goals and providing one assist in his first three competitive games.

His most recent outstanding performance for Bayer Leverkusen came in the 3-0 win over over Borussia Monchengladbach, where he netted a brace.

In an interview with Bundesliga.com, Xabi Alonso, a former Liverpool legend, praised the qualities of the Nigerian striker.

“Victor’s a real problem for opposition defences. He’s powerful, quick and makes runs from deep. He has a good mentality and works for the team, not for himself,” Alonso said.

Bayer Leverkusen paid Royale Union Saint-Gilloise €20m to sign the player this summer.
