Akwa United Head Coach, Fatai Osho is confident his side will banish the ghost of their League, opening day defeat when they host Sporting Lagos this Sunday.









Osho’s team lost 5-3 to Bayelsa United in the opening game, despite leading on three different occasions.

 

The Promise Keepers will be hosting Sporting Lagos for their first home match of the new season and Osho is feeling positive.

“This is going to be our first home match in front of our fans and we know that they deserve the very best from us because we have enjoyed tremendous support and encouragement.

“We are in a good shape to go all out and give our best to ensure we achieve our target which is to win this game for our beloved fans and the wonderful people of Akwa Ibom State.

“We didn’t get the result we wanted on Matchday 1 but we have put that behind us and we are focusing on the game at hand.

“We have worked really hard since we came back from Yenagoa, and I’m happy that the boys have shown serious improvement in training. I’m confident that they will take that sparkling form into the match proper on Sunday.”

Fatai Osho also gave updates on players who were previously injured.

“We are delighted that some of our key players are back from injury,.and have since resumed training.

“We have a good team on ground and they are all ready to play their part as we push for our first win of the season.”

Akwa United and Sporting Lagos will meet for the first time in the NPFL.
