AFCON 2023: Super Eagles Fired Up Angola Test – Iwobi

Alex Iwobi has said the Super Eagles are fired up for their quarter-final clash against the Palancas Negras of Angola.

Jose Peseiroโ€™s men will be up against the Palancas Negras at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Friday.

The Super Eagles recorded an impressive 2-0 victory against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the Round of 16 last Saturday.

Iwobi claimed the players will look to replicate same performance against Pedro Goncalvesโ€™ side.

โ€œBoth teams want to qualify for the semi-final. For us we have to attack and defend well as we have done in previous games. We want to qualify for the next stage of the competition, Iwobi said at a press conference on Thursday.

โ€œItโ€™s important for us to respect them (Angola). To get to this stage of the competition is a great achievement for them. They are a very good side with quality players.

โ€œWe have kept three clean sheets since the first game which is good for the team and has scored goals as well.

โ€œWe must fight to win the game.All of us must give our best on the pitch.โ€
