Police agents in Kaduna have arrested five suspected kidnappers and one suspected car robber in the state.

State police command spokesperson, Mansir Hassan confirmed the arrest in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna.

He said: β€œOn June 15, at around 6.10pm, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Maigana received intelligence from concerned citizens regarding a group of kidnappers who were planning to collect ransom from the relatives of their victims.

“The DPO acted quickly to deploy his patrol team and several members of the vigilante group to the location.

β€œThe operation resulted in the arrest of the suspects, Shuaiabu Bala, 23, from Malanta, Gimba Village, and Safinu Musa 22, from Bugau Village, Anchau, Local Government Area (LGA) of Kubau state.”

He said investigations were underway to arrest other members of the kidnapping gang.

β€œHowever, a significant breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping occurred on June 17 with the arrest of three more suspected kidnappers.

β€œActing on credible intelligence received by the Tafa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), it was reported that several suspected kidnappers were seen roaming around Tafa Town.

At around 17.00 the DPO immediately mobilized and led a monitoring team, together with the Joint Civil Task Force (JTF) Tafa, to the location of the incident.

As a result of this quick action, three suspected kidnappers were arrested and taken to the police station.

β€œThe suspects have been identified as Sani Amadu 17, Sani Lawal, 20, and Aliyu Usman 22, all residents of Dadin Kowa, Tafa LGA of Niger State.

β€œDuring the investigation, incriminating evidence was discovered, including pictures and videos of the bandits’ activities on their mobile phones.
