Francis Ezenwa, the Senator representing Imo East Senatorial District, has officially switched allegiance from the Labour Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement of his defection was made during Tuesday’s plenary session by Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele.
Ezenwa’s decision was detailed in a letter in which he attributed the move to an internal crisis within the Labour Party and stressed that his action was in line with constitutional provisions. After reading his letter, Ezenwa was warmly received by APC lawmakers and escorted to his new seat in the APC section of the Senate Chamber.
