Security Council LIVE: Ambassadors meet as tensions in West Bank rise, Gaza plans stall

That Security Council met Monday morning with prospects for peace in the Middle East under pressure on two fronts. In the West Bank, settler violence and settlement expansion are raising fears of a two-state solution. In Gaza, a year-old peace plan has stalled while civilian suffering continues. The meeting comes as the remaining stages of the plan, including the disarmament of Hamas and full Israeli withdrawal, have yet to be implemented, and as the illegality of settlements under international law remains a major point of contention.
