A 30-year-old man has been jailed for killing his father in Kebbi

Police on Thursday charged a 30-year-old man, Ibrahim Karaye, in court in Kebbi State for allegedly killing his father, Bahago Karaye.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Usman, confirmed this in a statement in Birnin Kebbi.

He said the incident occurred on March 30 at a farm in Rakka Village, Birnin Yauri, Yauri Local Government Area of ​​the state.

“The suspect and the deceased were reportedly working together when a dispute arose between them, which then escalated into a physical altercation.

“During the confrontation, the deceased allegedly threw a stick at his son. As a result, the suspect became furious, took a pestle and hit his father on the head.

“The victim suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Birnin Yauri Primary Health Care Centre, where he received treatment and was later discharged.

However, on April 1 at around 15.30, the father died at his residence due to the injuries he suffered in the incident, said the spokesperson.
