APC stakeholders in Ogun East support Daniel for a second term in the Senate

*OGD is confident of winning the senatorial ticket

Senator Gbenga Daniel has expressed confidence in securing the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for Ogun East senatorial district ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Daniel, popularly known as OGD, said this on Tuesday in Ijebu-Ode while speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Otunba Gbenga Daniel (BATOGD) Empowerment Programme.
The senator said he would have won in a landslide if the party had conducted free and fair primary elections.
He said some political actors intend to intimidate voters during the APC primary elections in the district.
Daniel, however, urged party members and supporters not to be deterred by threats or harassment during the exercise.
According to him, Ogun East belongs to all members of the APC and no one should be denied membership.
The former governor advised party faithful to come out en masse and vote during the primary elections.
“Without a doubt, in a free and fair primary, I will not only win, but I will win in a landslide.
“Go into town and check with the people; ask them questions. You are here; on your way out, go to the people, ask them questions about who is on the ground.”
“What others depend on is that they will do violence and scare people away from voting.
“And that’s why I tell our people that they shouldn’t be discouraged, they should come out and vote,” he said.
Daniel, who charged residents to rate his popularity and contribution to the development of the district, listed his achievements in the National Assembly as including the South West Development Commission and a naval base at Ogun Waterside.
The senator also mentioned the establishment of the Federal Medical Center in Ijebu-Ode among other campaign projects, saying he had consistently empowered the people for over 30 years, even before he ventured into politics.
He said his administration as governor between 2003 and 2011 remained a testament to his developmental capacity.
APC stakeholders participating in the empowerment program endorsed Daniel for a second term in the Senate.
